Aftermath Sector - Week 2

There have now been over 200 battle reports for the Aftermath Campaign! (that is 100 games of Warhammer 40,000 per week!) Thank you for all your hard work and dedication towards this successful campaign. Keep logging those games, and don’t forget to take advantage of the Battle Report Initiative.

The campaign story continues this week, with the addition of the first event within the campaign.

Ork and Nurgle forces continue to batter at the Prox system. While Orks are intent on causing destruction on Prox, Ignus has come under attack by the corrupting influence of invading servants of Nurgle.
In response to the threat imposed on the Prox system, Imperial forces have changed their course of action and have switched to a defensive role, trying to hold the attackers in the Prox system at bay. A significant amount of the defending forces have been diverted to Prox to counter the threat. Whispers loom of a greater danger as the servants of Nurgle continue to defile Ignus.

Elsewhere in the sector, the Karsonis system is beginning to sway. The Eldar attacks on Touleno have been preserving that planet, while Imperial forces clear the system in preparation for planetary invasion of Karsonis and Karenth.

From beneath the surface of Flamberge a great relic of the Aftermath sector has been discovered by Tau mining operations have. The relic resembles those found on Aftermath and Contego. It is thought to be from the Dark Age of Technology and was one of several that were left behind on the planets in the Aftermath sector. Each one was tasked with controlling reality in the sector, preventing the Immaterium from flooding into normal space. Bound to each relic was a daemon of considerable power, imprisoned using the dark and forgotten lore of ages past.

If the relic would be destroyed, the fear is that Chaos will invade reality from here as well. Imperial forces hope to catch Braxton before he gets word of the relic and destroy it himself.

That's excellent mate, it's cracking to see the community coming together for this campaign.

Shame I'm not getting any games in at the mo, otherwise I'd join in the fun.
