Cannon Knight Redone

Another unit that I wasn't happy with the visual style as my army aged was the Shuiken Cannon Dragon Knights. I felt that the underslung cannon on the back made for an awkward model. Instead I decided to mock up the cannons as if they were lances (After all this is an Exodite army). It still seems a little "heavy" to me, but I think overall the visual effect is much cleaner and looks far less cumbersome.

These dragon riders are all awesome, and I really like the redone shuriken cannon.

Fantastic model, very nicely done. Good decision to remake it, he certainly is great looking

Like them, they def. look way better than the old version. Did you use the SCs from the serpent sprue or the ones coming along with walkers/lords?

I like the lance look. Looks great and really captures the feel of your army. Well done.

I'm happy with the remake! I think I might try something simmilar with Bright Lances for the Shining Spears...

Karnstein: These cannons are from the Wave Serpent sprue. I used them because I had a ton of them laying around doing nothing for me.

Next (maybe the last) stupid question...started glueing my cold ones together.

How did you combine guardian torso and the knights legs, cause those kits don't work very well together. Did you cut the bulge from the legs&torso off and glued them together or did you just use GS to create a natural looking hip? From the picture I would guess that you filed of a little bit of both bulges before glueing them together.

I stuck a pin on the bottom of the guardian torso, and into the legs of the dark elf riders. I made sure that the plastic glue had plenty of time to bond the halves of the legs together first before doing this step. Next I took an old Dire Avenger tabard bit and use it with greenstuff to fill in the middle, as if they were wearing sashes.
