Flyers in 40K

This one is a shoutout to anyone out there who has flyers in their army. What I've noticed is that there is no "flying stand" to speak of that has a universal height. This will change with the upcoming Imperial Guard Valkyrie, but who knows when it will become available to purchase seperately, or if at all. So my question is a simple one: How "high" do you mount your flyers and by what method?

Well when shooting at them you have to take 12" from you're range so maybe 12" high would be a good idea

I've not built my flyers yet, but I was thinking around 12" to 16" would be right. Keep in mind, I think the Valkyrie is only going to be considered a skimmer. Am I correct on this?

Thats true, the Valkyrie is going to count as a skimmer as far as normal games are concerned.

As far as flyers go, the higher you mount them, the more distance you're measuring from.

Forgeworld appears to be giving the new Valkyrie bases with the flyers. I recently just bought two phoenix bombers and each came with the bases. The bases are great but they are a pain to get mounted, they are designed for the Valkyrie not the eldar.... :(
But they look good and are sturdy.

Thats some good information! How high does that base place the models up?

They are 8" I believe. maybe less....
