Exarch Conversion

All weapon options are pinned and interchangeable. Shown with two shuriken catapults here.

I'm really enjoying watching how these guys come together. The Exarch is completely cool!

Very nicely done! How did you do it, or rather how much of the coat/body did you need to shave away to make those two kits fit?

Not much surprisingly, only the raised areas of the cape a bit and the flat parts where the corsair arms usually connect. After that it was easy to get them flush.

Hm, let's see if I got you right:

Legs: DA
Arms: DA
front body: DA
rear body: corsair

cut the corsair part, glue together and resculp the DA shoulder armor using greenstuff.

I'm building up a corsair army, hopefully making that compatible to the upcoming DE dex. So I bought ~40 corsairs for kitbashing them with eldar models into 20 DA, 10 guardians and 10 storm guardians. All wearing cloaks, some also wearing the whole corsair body and the storm guardians will use the corsair hand weapons.

All those parts rest on my table right at the moment, but I can't see a way to fit them together with either leaving the guardian back packs behind and/or cutting whole parts of the cloaks away.

That's it exactly. I still have the backs of the avengers on the sprue. I just removed all of the raised areas that the corsair body attaches to on the cape. I also did some Storm guardian, Fire Dragon and Ranger conversions using corsair parts; I'm redoing my rangers though because I didn't like how they turned out without the guardian armor front.

When you have some pictures, let me know. Good luck with your project. :D

Sure, but that may take some days...

I will keep my rangers unmodified, they already got cloaks after all. My biggest problem are those elite choices, like shees and dragons. They don't come with a cloak and I'm not so eager to torture them with a saw. Guess I need to find a way to create a cast of those cloaks with greenstuff. o_O
