Preparing the Battlefield

The old gaming table is getting battered, old and well, a bit fat with its age, at least compared to the boards Games Workshop has been showing off lately. After looking over various ways of making a table, and examining how the Citadel Realm of Battle game board goes together I decided to replicate the modular style of 2 foot by 2 foot tiles that can be assembled in multiple ways. This is the beginning of such a project with the goal of getting the same functionality of a modular game board and to replicate the look of the Realm of Battle board.

Using a fabricated 4 foot by 8 foot textured board, cutting it into 8 separate tiles 2 foot by 2 foot each (of course, you know I just had to make my board bigger!), polystyrene, glue, and Velcro strips the idea is to keep this project under $100.
